A New Image Collection a Year in the Making

Here’s Your Sneak Peak.

  • Lightstorm

This image was almost an accident. I’d gone out to create an image of Half Dome in Yosemite Valley but turned a corner and walked right into this! What could be better than accidental magnificence?

  • First Snow

Early snow on the High Sierras and fall colors at the peak of their beauty. This is the quintessence of autumn. This morning took my breath away and I’m glad there’s a photo to remember it by.

  • Olmsted Point, Glacial Erratics and Half Dome

Glacial erratics with Half Dome off in the distance. In case you don’t know, an erratic is a boulder that was encased in ice as the glacier flowed down canyon. Later, when the glacier melted away, the boulder was deposited wherever it happened to be at that time.

  • Thunderdome

This image of afternoon thunderheads building up over the high country domes in Yosemite is an homage to a very similar one by Ansel Adams. But you can own mine for less than $1,000,000 :)

  • Ephemeral

A soft, hazy sunset along the Big Sur Coast with languid waves slowly rolling in. This was an evening that brought peace and satisfaction. I wished that it would last longer, but all good things must pass.

  • Moonglow

After the crowds had gone, the quiet moon rose through the evening air, painting the ocean with glitter. I stood in front of this beautiful scene, satisfied that everything was as it should be.

  • Solstice Moon

Last July the full moon rose on the summer solstice. I think this may be the most serene and calming image of Lake Tahoe that I’ve ever taken.

  • Autumn Star

The sun pokes it’s head out from behind the trees to add it’s star to the golden beauty of these aspens.

  • Gathering Storm

The old timers said that this last October was the most vivid they’d seen in the previous 20 years. Who am I to argue? On this morning I stood on the shore of North Lake, mesmerized by the visual feast.

  • North Lake Sunrise

Uh … well… does it get any better? The colors, the reflection, the morning sky. What a mind boggling sunrise it was.

  • Yosemite Daydream

How is it that Yosemite Valley can provide perfect symmetry and beauty at the same time? I think its a feeling that all visitors get from their visit. It may not be a conscious thought but it still creates the sense of wonder and satisfaction we feel about “The Valley”.

  • Monolith and Maple Leaves

Magnificent and serene at the same time. Yosemite Valley always provides. In this image El Capitan is reflected in the Merced River.

  • Painted River

A November morning along the Merced River in Yosemite. This image reminds me of the rich colors and deep blacks of the early American romantic landscape painters. Yosemite was one of their favorite places to paint after all.
